Abdur Rahmaan Kadwa BSc (Vet. Biol.), BVSc, MMedVet (Anaes), Dipl. ECVAA Specialist Anaesthesiologist 

Dr Abdur grew up in a small sugar cane farming town on the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal, where his passion for animals developed. He graduated from Onderstepoort in 2015, where his passion for anaesthesia was kindled during his final year of study. After completing community service, Abdur returned to Onderstepoort for a small animal internship and then residency in veterinary anaesthesia. In 2021, he graduated with a master’s in veterinary anaesthesia, allowing him to register as a veterinary specialist in South Africa. In 2022, Abdur wrote and passed his certifying exam for the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, granting him the privilege of being recognized as a specialist internationally. In 2024 Abdur joined the BVH team as our specialist anaesthesiologist and critical care specialist. Abdur particularly enjoys the anaesthesia of dogs for cardiothoracic procedures as well as post-operative intensive care. During his time off, Abdur enjoys fishing and traveling with his wife and three children
